We will be in the city, for the city, working to see our city transformed by the Gospel.
We will begin CityLife groups soon. These are groups of 8-15 people who gather together around a central mission. These groups will gather, share a meal, study the Bible, and serve somewhere in our community.
The Good News
Many of us are seeking our purpose in this life and struggle to find it. We pursue hope, joy, and love and often come up empty. The Good News for us all is there is an answer. Click on "What we believe" above for more.
Matt and Kellie Ulp
Matt and his wife Kellie grew up in Rochester, NY and attended Greece Odyssey High School. They have been married for 11 years and have two kids. They currently live in the Highland Park neighborhood in the city. They want to be part of seeing the city thrive and become great again!
Matt is the Lead Pastor of CityLife Church, a newer church in the Highland Park neighborhood. They love living in the city and hanging out with their kids at their community playground (Ellwanger Barry playground). They enjoy taking walks in the neighborhood or in the park. They enjoy the outdoors.
In their free time, they enjoy biking the Genessee River Trail, visiting their favorite neighborhood restaurants like Napa, Pat’s Coffee Mug, Harry G’s, or at the Park Ave Paninoteca, and sailing Lake Ontario. They are also avid Bills fans, but don’t hold that against them.
Matt and Kellie have an active faith in Christ and love sharing the story of redemption found in The Bible. Through strong relationships and service in the community, CityLife strives to be a people and a place that encourages others to discover hope in God again, and to build community throughout our city that makes a real difference.
CityLife Church is a church that exists to glorify God. We are a church that is in the city and for the city. We strive to be a church that loves our neighbors well, that invests in others life’s, that brings a restoration of hope and new life to our city. We believe that the Bible is a timeless book that holds the answers to our city’s problems which stem from the brokenness in our city and in people’s lives. In Christ, there is good news, there is hope in a God who breaks into that brokenness, pain, and death and brings life. We will work tirelessly to ensure that every man, women, and child has multiple opportunities to hear and see this life giving message, the good news of the Gospel.
Clean Sweep is an event put on by the City of Rochester. This year it is on April 30th which is a Saturday at 8am. CityLife Church will go as a group and join our neighbors in this event. It starts at 8am at Frontier Field. We’ll meet there at the entrance and then go in and get snacks and coffee and our assignment. We’ll then go to our site and finish up around 11 and meet back at Frontier Field for a free ball game and lunch at 1:35.
